Adventure Guide for Arizona

I’m still not ready to admit Spring Break is over. It’s always nice to get away from reality for a bit! I spend 9 days soaking up some much-needed relaxation out in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area! I will include photos of a few places I went and I’ll make sure to link all the websites! Enjoy xx!

Family Friendly Things To Do:

OdySea Aquarium: Brett and I really enjoy going to zoo’s and/or aquarium’s in any city we visit. We have been going to various places since the beginning of our relationship. We checked out this beautiful place last Spring Training! The OdySea, located in Scottsdale, is the largest Aquarium in the Southwest part of the United States offering close up looks of over 30,000 animals.  It was truly a great experience! I also waited like a 6-year-old to pet some stingrays…haha. Well worth it though. Tickets vary a little bit in price. Adults (13-64) range from $37.95- $42.95 per person, Children (2-12) cost $27.95 per person, and Military/Senior (65+) cost $35.95 per person! It is still one of my favorite memories from my visits to AZ.

Butterfly Wonderland: The OdySea Aquarium and The Butterfly Wonderland are all on the same property! You can do a combo at a discounted rate if you want to visit both! They also have other attractions on the property such as a Mirror + Laser Maze and Dolphinaris! There aren’t any combination packages for Dolphinaris…those would be sold individually! But Brett & I did the package deal for The OdySea and The Butterfly Wonderland and thoroughly enjoyed it! The package deal for both is $54.94 for adults, $36.95 for a child (2-12), and $50.95 for seniors (65+)/military! If you just want to visit Butterfly Wonderland, the prices for adults is $23.95, $15.95 for kids (2-12), and $21.95 for senior citizens (65+)/military.After we visited the Aquarium, we just walked right over to The Butterfly Wonderland. The Wonderland consists of the history of moths + butterflies!  Once you get your gist of history, you will be allowed into a room full of various butterflies! I don’t know that we would do this again but it was something interesting to experience once!

The Phoenix Zoo: We visited the Phoenix Zoo two years ago and I think we went on too hot of a day to thoroughly enjoy it. They have tons of animals to learn about and see but most of the animals were hiding in any shade they could find because of how hot it was! I wouldn’t mind going back one day when it is cooler out. I just recommend checking the temperature before going!  I would hate for you to waste your money when you really won’t be seeing a ton of animals out! Adult Admission (14 and up) is $22.95 and Child Admission (3-13) is $12.95.

Octane Raceway: Brett is WAY more competitive than I am, so when it comes to doing any sort of activity to win, he is down 100%. We went on a double date to Octane this SB and it was a blast (even though Brett lapped me twice haha)!!! These are no ordinary go-karts either…they get up to 45 mph! If you don’t like bumper cars, then this is also a perfect place for you! Bumping into other karts can get you in trouble so just be aware of that! Each race lasts about 15-20 min or so! I really enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Definitely would go again! It is $20 for one race per person!

Sedona: Everyone needs to visit this place. The most beautiful red rock I have ever seen. It is a full day affair! It takes about 2 hours to get there from Scottsdale but it is worth the drive! We visited Slide Rock State Park and ate a great meal at The Enchantment Resort for dinner! We also drove through little touristy towns with great views! It really is a neat place to visit for the day!

Food/Dessert:

Culinary Dropout: They have locations in Scottsdale, Phoenix, Tempe, and Tucson! Great food and open really until 11 pm! Which is great if you need somewhere to eat after a long day! A great place to grab lunch or dinner… mostly American food! The Soft Pretzels & Provolone Fondue is an appetizing starter! Their Family friendly in a vintage typesetting!

Snooze Eatery: My absolute favorite place to go to for breakfast/lunch! They offer locations in Phoenix, Tempe, Gilbert, Kierland, and Ahwatukee. They have great bloody marys and a multitude of brunch options! I always get the Breakfast Pot Pie! It is heaven on earth, I’m telling you! Sausage Gravy with an egg (any way you’d like) all on top of a pastry! I know it sounds kinda strange but it is really good! It is one of those places that people will wait in line for hours at a time. I just recommend going really early in the morning or right before they close! Any time in between, there will most likely be a wait.

Flemings Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar: If you want to go on a nice date night, Flemings will not disappoint! The staff members were really professional and made sure everything was to our liking. Brett got the Main Filet Minon 12 oz and I got the Petite Filet Minon 8 oz. Both medium rare with a side of Lobster Mac N Cheese and Mashed Potatoes! We were full and extremely satisfied, to say the least! If you’re wanting to splurge, this is a lovely and intimate place to look into!

Sugar Bowl: The cutest little pink diner! If you have a sweet tooth like me, this is the place for you! They serve breakfast/brunch as well but are better known for their sundaes, shakes, parfaits, and splits! I got the “Gosh-Awful-Gooey-Banana Split and let’s just say it wasn’t close to awful! It was as big as me though! The raspberry sherbert in it was my favorite part! If you’re in the mood for a yummy treat, this place didn’t disappoint.

Creamistry: If you haven’t been, you need to go! Each scoop of ice cream is made using liquid nitrogen (dry ice)! Also if you love cereal and want to incorporate that into your ice cream, this is the place for ya! They offer Cap N’ Crunch, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Cocoa Puffs, French Toast Crunch, and Fruity Pebbles ice cream! Also, they have alternatives if you are Lactose intolerant or just prefer a different option besides milk. Every time I have been, there has been a wait but the line goes quickly! I usually get Nutella with banana and substitute regular milk for coconut milk! Such a treat!

The Body Lab: This was a huge challenge! This was my very first time doing Pilates on a patented MegaFormer. Your first class is free and any additional class afterward is $30! I only did one class with a friend of mine! It looks easy watching the class before you but if you’re someone who wants to get toned + are up for a challenge, I recommend this! 50 minutes of consistent small movements on the moving portion of the patented board. The goal of the whole workout is to fatigue your muscles enough to shake. I was shaking during and even hours afterward! A great workout if you’re looking for something quick and beneficial. They have two locations in Arizona. I went to the Arcadia/Phoenix location. The other location is in The Desert Ridge/Scottsdale Area.

Hope this is helpful! Enjoy xx
